What “free” usually means
Usually, free to try. TheMintLab’s free Starter tier stops at 100 NFTs. Genfty lets you make and download your first 100 without an account. NFTGen’s free export stops at 1,000 NFTs, at 350 × 350 pixels. After that you pay per collection, per NFT or per export size.
Some tools are free to you because they earn elsewhere: NFTs2Me charges collectors a small fee on each mint, and NFT-Inator takes 2% of primary sales made through its contracts.
Puffles Studio is our own product. Every other fact below is quoted from the tool’s own page, opened on 22 September 2026, and linked so you can check it. Prices change, so open the link before you decide.
The price of 10,000 NFTs, tool by tool
| Tool | Free tier | 10,000 NFTs | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Puffles Studio | Everything, up to 20,000 NFTs | $0 | Sign-in required. No minting, contracts or hosting. PNG or JPEG only. |
| TheMintLab | Starter: up to 100 NFTs | $200 (Pro) | Paid access lasts 7 days. The free tier lists “No watermarked export”, while the $75 tier lists “Clean export — no watermark”, so it isn’t clear whether free exports carry one. |
| Genfty | First 100 NFTs, without an account | $99 | $1 per 100 credits after the first 100. IPFS upload, a contract and a mint page are included. |
| NFTGen | Up to 1,000 NFTs at 350 × 350 px | $119 | Paid exports list “No watermark HD images”; 5,000 NFTs cost $89. |
| The NFT Generator | Not checked | $99, paid once for a year | Shown as a sale price (from $379), with a banner saying the sale ends September 30. |
| Bueno | Free until you export | 0.9 ETH | 0.00009 ETH per token. |
| NFT-Inator | A free plan with contracts and mint pages | $379 Generator Pass | The pass lists “No watermarks or branding”. 2% of primary sales through its contracts. |
| OneMint | None listed | $799 | Also makes GIF and MP4 collections. |
| iMintify | A €0 plan; its layer generator uses no credits | €0 platform fee | You pay the chain’s own network fee to deploy. |
| NFTs2Me | Free to create and deploy | $0 to you | Collectors pay 0.0001 ETH (about $0.30) per mint, unless you pay to remove it. |
| HashLips Art Engine | Free, open-source code (MIT licence) | $0 | You run it with Node.js and edit its settings file. Last updated on GitHub on 24 April 2024. |
Where a price only appeared after moving a slider (NFTGen, NFT-Inator, OneMint), we moved it to 10,000 and read the price shown.
Size limits
| Tool | Largest collection |
|---|---|
| Puffles Studio | 20,000 built on your device; 10,000 per cloud build (the export step shows the current cloud limit) |
| TheMintLab | 10,000 |
| NFTGen | Its price slider goes to 20,000 |
| The NFT Generator | 20,000 per collection |
| NFT-Inator | Passes go up to 30,000 tokens per export |
| OneMint | Its price list goes up to 250,000 |
| Genfty, Bueno | “As many as you want”, in their own words |
Do you need an account?
Puffles Studio asks you to sign in with an email or a wallet before you use the studio: no password, no fee, and no wallet needed. Its home-page starter playground and its creatives page need no sign-in. Genfty lets you generate and download up to 100 NFTs without an account, and The NFT Generator’s home page says “No account required.” The other pages we read don’t say.
Where the work happens
Puffles Studio builds in your browser and uploads nothing, unless you choose its free cloud build (for heavy collections of up to 10,000, or a slow device). TheMintLab says “All compositing happens in your browser”, and NFTGen says “All NFT generation happens in your browser.” The other pages we read don’t say.
Chains and metadata formats
Puffles Studio writes EVM, OpenSea-style metadata only: one JSON file per NFT and OpenSea’s drop CSV. Genfty, NFTGen and iMintify name other kinds of chains on their pages. If you need a format for a chain outside the Ethereum family, pick a tool whose page names your chain.
Extras: minting, contracts, hosting
Genfty, NFT-Inator, NFTs2Me, OneMint, iMintify and The NFT Generator also offer contracts or mint pages, and Genfty and Bueno upload to IPFS. Puffles Studio does none of this: it makes the images and metadata, and you choose where they go (how that works).
Tools that closed or changed
- NiftyKit’s site now says it “Has Been Acquired by Kaikai Kiki” and that its team is building a new project, Numa Pit (niftykit.com).
- appypie.com/nft-generator now redirects to Pixazo’s NFT generator, which makes pictures from a text prompt rather than from your layers.
Lists of “top NFT generators” that still include these are out of date.
Which one fits what you need
- A free, watermark-free set of files for 10,000 to 20,000 NFTs, with metadata you host yourself: Puffles Studio, or HashLips if you’re happy running code.
- The contract, mint page or IPFS upload handled in the same place: Genfty, NFT-Inator, NFTs2Me, OneMint or iMintify.
- Metadata for a chain outside the Ethereum family: Genfty, NFTGen or iMintify.
- Animated GIF or MP4 NFTs: OneMint lists them. Puffles Studio makes PNG and JPEG only.
- No sign-in at all: Genfty (up to 100 NFTs) or The NFT Generator, going by their pages.
How we checked
We opened every page linked here on 22 September 2026 and quoted what it said that day, including where a tool’s own wording is unclear. We give no ratings or rankings, and we don’t judge other tools’ quality: we only report prices, limits and what each page says. Puffles Studio’s weak points are in the same tables: it needs a sign-in, doesn’t mint, deploy or host, writes EVM metadata only, and makes PNG or JPEG only.
Questions people ask
Is there a truly free NFT generator for 10,000 NFTs?
Yes. Puffles Studio makes up to 20,000 for free (with a free sign-in), and the HashLips Art Engine is free code you run yourself. iMintify’s layer generator and NFTs2Me charge you no platform fee, but they are built around deploying and minting with them.
Which free generators have no watermark?
Puffles Studio never adds one. Among the paid tools, NFTGen’s paid exports and NFT-Inator’s Generator Pass say “no watermark”. TheMintLab’s wording for its free tier is unclear.
Which don’t need an account?
Genfty (up to 100 NFTs) and The NFT Generator say so on their pages. Puffles Studio needs a free sign-in with an email or a wallet, except for its home-page playground and its creatives page.
Which support chains outside the Ethereum family?
Genfty, NFTGen and iMintify name other chains on their pages. Puffles Studio writes EVM, OpenSea-style metadata only.
Can a generator mint my collection too?
Some can: Genfty, NFT-Inator, NFTs2Me, OneMint and iMintify offer contracts or mint pages. Puffles Studio doesn’t; it makes the files and you choose where to mint.
